camden. evolved from openCrate.club, a proof-of-concept AI DJ platform built in hours using Claude Code in March 2026. openCrate validated the core idea: people want to DJ their AI-generated tracks in a browser. camden. takes that foundation and expands it into a complete ecosystem with generative AI built in, a new brand identity, audio-reactive visuals, and a path to monetization.
The name references Camden Town, London — a culturally significant venue district known for raw creativity, live music, and underground culture. The brand positions the platform as a place, not a product.
